To GPs who use the Health Service Laboratories (HSL) Virology/Serology service, Following a clinical review and significant reduction in test volume, we’d like to inform you that HSL will no longer offer the Roche anti-N (nucleocapsid) SARS-CoV-2 assay effective 1st December 2023. HSL will continue to offer the Roche quantitative anti-S (spike) SARS-CoV-2 assay as this is required by NHSE to determine whether a patient is eligible for monoclonal antibody treatment. If the Roche anti-N (nucleocapsid) SARS-CoV-2 assay is required for research purposes, HSL can support this request via HSL R&D, however the assay will not be UKAS accredited.
