Paediatric audiology is based at the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospital. The service provides Audiological assessments for children ranging from newborns to 18-year-olds.
We support the Audiological assessment of a variety of hearing and balance disorders carried out in the Audiovestibular Medicine (AVM) and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Clinics at the RNTNEH.
We provide hearing tests of babies referred from the newborn hearing screening programme.
We provide hearing aids for children and young people with hearing loss.
We work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Audiovestibular Physicians, Teachers of the Deaf, Psychologists and Speech-Language Therapists based in the RNENT & Eastman Dental Hospital.

What we treat
We provide hearing aids to children and young people with hearing loss, we also provide audio-vestibular testing for paediatric AVM and ENT services.
How to refer
We do not accept external referrals directly as we provide services through internal referral.
To access paediatric audiology services patients need to be referred to either an Audio-vestibular Physician (AVM) or Ear, Nose and Throat consultant (ENT) for assessment and management.
For UCLH patients needing ototoxic medication monitoring please refer to Paediatric Audiology in EPIC.
Audio-vestibular m edicine clinics are for:
Hearing (permanent hearing loss, newborn hearing screening follow-up)
Balance (neuro-vestibular assessments for patients with dizziness or balance disorders)
Tinnitus + Hyperacusis
Auditory Processing Disorder
Ear, nose and throat clinics are for:
Hearing and / or ear problems relating to problems with the outer and / or middle ear (such as glue ear, eardrum perforations, ear discharge, wax removal) which may require surgical management.
