Three trainee pathologists at RNOH have enrolled in PhD fellowships undertaking research in sarcoma:
Amy Bowes - Has started her PhD at The Francis Crick Institute and her supervisors are Dr Peter Van Loo and Dr Nischalan Pillay. She is funded by CRUK/ Francis Crick. Her focus is on large morphologically scattered, highly atypical cells in sarcoma.
Steven Nottley - Has started his PhD at UCL and his supervisors are Dr Nischalan Pillay and Dr Peter Van Loo. He is funded by CRUK. His focus is investigating genomic determinants of radio-resistance and evolution under radiotherapy in soft tissue sarcoma.
Solange DeNoon - Has started her PhD at UCL and her supervisor is Prof Adrienne Flanagan. She is funded by the Jean Shanks Foundation and the Pathological Society and her focus is on osteosarcoma.
Sara Waise- is a Clinical Lecturer at The Francis Crick Institute with Dr Peter Van Loo and Dr Nischalan Pillay as her supervisors. She is funded by Jean Shanks Foundation and the Pathological Society. Her research focus is to characterise the complex structural rearrangement mechanisms generating canonical gene fusions across sarcomas.
