The DiaMEETes will run in-person at UCLH on Tuesday 30th May from 1pm-4pm for children under the UCLH diabetes team, aged 9-11. It will offer opportunities to meet other young people of a similar age, thinking together about their strengths and resources, and also challenges around diabetes, in fun and creative ways, using games, arts & crafts.
We will be joined by slightly older young people living with type 1 diabetes (our peer trainers), who will share their experiences of living with diabetes and share some of their strengths and challenges throughout their diabetes journey so far.
Please be aware that the group is for young people only and we invite parents to find something to do for the duration of the group after dropping their child off. A clinical nurse specialist will be present during the afternoon to manage any medical questions or medical care required.
If your child is interested in attending the group, please register using the link below. It is essential that you sign up on behalf of your child as soon as possible, as we have a very limited number of spaces and will only be able to allocate places on a first come first serve basis.
We aim to run the group again in the future and will keep a waiting list if your child is unable to attend this time.
