We have a comprehensive team and facilities here to support patients, families and carers through their radiotherapy pathway. These include:
- Macmillan Information and Support Radiographer
- a team of specialist radiographers and nurses
- Radiotherapy support workers
- Health Care Assistants
- Health play specialists
- Macmillan Support and Information Service
Depending on your treatment you may see the doctor, radiotherapy review team, clinical nurse specialist or specialist radiographer for regular reviews. These appointments will be on your appointment list.
Your reviews will allow you to discuss any concerns you may have from your radiotherapy (physical or emotional).
These appointments are about your individual needs; an opportunity to obtain information and support and referral to other services as appropriate.
The radiotherapy service has dedicated complimentary therapies which can be accessed within the department as well as additional therapies which are conducted within the Macmillan Cancer Centre just a short walk away.
Our support workers will signpost you to the services we currently offer when we see you at one of your first appointments within the service.
