About the service
Vocational rehabilitation is the process to overcome any barriers an individual with a health condition faces when maintaining work/study roles, returning to work/study from a period of sick leave, or considering medical retirement.
Our service offers out-patient vocational rehabilitation to people with a neurological diagnosis. Our team is comprised of occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, an assistant psychologist and a consultant neurologist. In an initial assessment, we gather information about diagnosis, symptoms, occupation and how the neurological condition may impact on work or study. Depending on the individual's needs, we may offer further appointments to provide personalised goals and interventions.
Accessing the service
We are a tertiary service and generally receive referrals from people living in London and the surrounding areas, though we may accept referrals from further afield if appropriate.
To be eligible for our support, the individual must be over 16 years of age, have a neurological diagnosis, be in education, employment or have a job to return to, and be ready to actively engage in vocational rehabilitation. We are not able to provide support for job-seeking or where the primary difficulty does not relate to a neurological condition.
