During my time as governor, I will endeavour to advocate on behalf of the amazing nurses and midwives who work across our sites, helping to ensure we are delivering the best care possible for all of our patients.
I believe in the NHS and its world famous health service. Having worked at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery for over 20 years I have built strong relationships around the Trust which have ensured I work collaboratively with staff and patients alike. My experience has given me an awareness of many of the challenges that are facing staff, patients and visitors at UCLH. I am particularly interested in staff experience and how patient engagement should underpin our work. I've a keen interest in succession planning and the enormous contribution that nursing and midwifery make throughout UCLH is acknowledged.
The patient voice and patient experience are hugely important within our Trust and I would like to continue in this vein, ensuring ongoing co-design is engrained in all we do. We can influence what matters to our patients whilst continuing to provide safe and effective care to our, often very complex, patient groups. I hope to continue the excellent work of previous staff governors.
We have an amazingly resilient workforce and I am committed to ensuring a voice for nursing and midwifery staff across UCLH. By working together we can ensure that we continue to deliver outstanding services to all attending UCLH.
