The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNEH) site on Gray's Inn Road is now permanently closed to clinical care.

This closure had originally been planned for later in the year and has been brought forward as part of our response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Services based at this site were inpatient ear, nose and throat and oral surgery, sleep diagnostics and allergy day case services. These services will be resuming at other UCLH sites and in the meantime, we are making use of capacity in the private sector to ensure patients receive the care they need.

The RNTNEH was due to close when our new 11-storey cancer and surgery facility opens later this year. Adult ENT and oral surgery services will be based in this new facility, with sleep diagnostics and allergy day case services based at other UCLH sites.

Outpatient services for ear, nose, throat and mouth including dental, hearing, speech and balance services are all based in our new Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals on Huntley Street, which opened in October 2019.

Information for patients about the location of services is set out clearly in patient appointment letters.
