Professional background
I am a senior clinical academic with 20 years of experience in specialist clinical practice, research and education.
I also possess significant experience in leadership and management and have excellent knowledge and understanding of the NHS policies and procedures. For years I have been an active member of various international organisations and academies which play a key role in shaping education and restorative dentistry. My career has allowed me to be part of diverse institutions such as Tufts University in Boston, Aristotle University in Thessaloniki and, since 2012, UCL EDI in London.
I am currently the chair of prosthodontics at UCL Eastman Dental Institute and honorary consultant in prosthodontics at UCLH. I oversee the management of complex restorative cases and aesthetic problems, utilising fixed bridges and removable partial or complete dentures supported by teeth or dental implants.

Research interests
My research work aligns with the themes of infection, immunology & inflammation, materials, global health, and clinical research outcomes.
I currently co-ordinate various research projects in the unit, aligned to EDI research themes. These research projects involve close collaboration with other EDI departments, such as microbial diseases, and biomaterials and tissue engineering, but also with other UCL and international units, and have led to research funding, collaboration with industry partners and high impact publications in peer-reviewed journals.
