Professional background

Professor Mundy is professor of urology and consultant urological surgeon at UCL Hospitals and is the corporate medical director and responsible officer. 

He qualified from St Mary's Hospital Medical School, London and trained in surgery and urology at Guy's Hospital in London. 

He has been a visiting consultant urologist for Marter Dei Hospital in Malta since 1984 and honorary civilian consultant urologist to the Royal Navy from 2000-2010 and honorary professor of medicine at the University of Crete since 2009. 

He was director of the Institute of Urology, University College London from 1996 - 2007; clinical director of urology at Guy's Hospital from 1992 - 1995; clinical director of urology and nephrology at UCL Hospitals from 1994 - 2001; and has been a medical director here at UCL Hospitals since 2001.  He is also a past president of the British Urological Association of surgeons, and a past member of the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons.

866 presentations to learned societies, 212 original papers in peer-reviewed journals, 64 chapters and 15 books.

He has had 51 visiting professorships, given 224 invited lectures around the world, incuding 19 eponymous lectures, for example, the Hunterian oration at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007, the Moynihan oration to the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland in 2009 and the Thomas Vocary lecture to the Royal College of Surgeon in 2016.

He has been visiting surgeon to 168 institutions around the world.
