Professional background
Dr Humphries is a consultant geriatrician and stroke physician who splits her time between University College Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
She is the clinical lead for the acute stroke unit at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery where she treats patients with a range of complex strokes and medical conditions. She participates in the hyperacute stroke unit (HASU) rota and runs both stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA) clinics. She is the lead for education in the stroke department and also lectures on the UCL Stroke MSc course. She also leads the acute frailty services at University College Hospital.
She attended Oxford University Medical School and trained in geriatric medicine and general internal medicine in southeast London. She was awarded a fellowship in stroke medicine in 2019 and was appointed as a consultant at UCLH later that year. She was elected as a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2022.
