Professional background

Sonita Koshal is clinical lead and consultant in Oral Surgery at the Eastman Dental Hospital.

She completed her undergraduate dentistry degree at Guys, Kings & St Thomas School of Dentistry. She then worked in various oral and maxillofacial surgery units across London and south east coast.

She obtained her Membership to the Faculty in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007.

In 2011 she gained her membership in Surgical Dentistry and became a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Sonita did her specialist training in Oral Surgery at the Eastman Dental Hospital, University College London Hospital. She also completed postgraduate certificates in Medical Education and Healthcare Management.

Her present post includes clinical, research, management and educational roles. She is the Associate Dental Dean for Dental Core and Specialty Trainees across London & Kent, Surrey & Sussex. She is also the Chair of the london Oral Surgery Managed Clinical Network.

She is involved in postgraduate assessment and is an examiner for the MFDS, ORE and M Oral Surgery examinations, which she is lead examiner for the written component.
