Professional background
Trained at Manchester University, graduating 1991. Worked in Manchester for 18 months, before going to Australia for two years. Worked in emergency medicine for two of the first three years after qualifying. On returning back to the UK, worked in Blackburn, North Manchester for a year, where I commenced my anaesthetic training. Then continued my anaesthetic training in Tayside, Scotland for over two and a half years. Came to London at the end of 1999 where I joined the North West Thames / Imperial Anaesthetic Registrar Rotation. Worked in Ealing for one year, back to Australia (Fremantle, Perth) for a year, then at Charing Cross, Queen Charlotte’s, Chelsea & Westminster and The Royal Marsden, before finishing as an airway fellow at UCH / Middlesex and The Royal National Nose,Throat & Ear Hospital. Appointed as a consultant at UCLH in 2003.
