Professional background
Chrysa is a consultant audiovestibular physician and was appointed at UCLH in 2015. She was awarded her CCT in audiovestibular medicine in 2011 and she worked as a consultant in both adult and paediatric audiovestibular medicine from 2011-2015 at Whittington Health. She was trained as an audiovestibular physician in London (Charing Cross, St Ann's, Great Ormond street, Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital and National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square).
Prior to her training in audiovestibular medicine she completed training in otorhinolaryngology. She was awarded her medical degree from National and Kapodistrian University in Athens Greece. She was awarded an MSc in Audiovestibuar medicine in 2008 from UCL and an MD(res) in 2015 from UCL. She runs general specialty clinics for children with hearing and balance problems. She runs an MDT hearing clinic for children with complex needs and the only national clinic for children with Auditory Processing Disorders (APD).
She is very interested in medical education. She is a member of the teaching committee for the MSc students at UCL. She is the educational Lead of audiovestibular medicine at UCLH. She is the specialty advisory committee (SAC) lead for the curriculum in audiovestibular medicine in the UK. She is the honorary secretary of the International Association of Physicians in Audiology (IAPA) and the chairman of the British Association of Audiovestibular Physicians (BAAP) national standards and guidelines.
