Professional background
Dr Audrienne Sammut is a consultant in neonatal medicine working within the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing at UCLH and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). She studied medicine at the University of Malta and trained in neonatology at Cambridge University Hospitals. Following this, she undertook a fellowship in neonatal medicine at the Evelina Children’s Hospital and was appointed as a neonatal consultant at UCLH in 2020.
Audrienne is the preterm care lead at UCLH, and her work focusses on promoting better care and improving outcomes for premature babies. She has an interest in neuroprotection of the premature baby and is leading on projects that are aimed at improving neurodevelopmental outcomes. Audrienne also co-leads the neonatal clinical guideline development group at UCLH and is establishing joint guidelines in collaboration with GOSH in order to provide standardised care for patients across sites.
