UCLH specialties shortlisted for good practice in health education

Six specialties have been commended for consistent good performance or sustained improvement across UCLH.

NHS England’s Education Quality team is working on a project to identify, celebrate and share examples of good practice in health education across London. 

Data from the General Medical Council (GMC) National Training Survey (NTS) has been combined with other quantitative and qualitative data to generate a shortlist of medical training programmes and specialities that have shown the most consistent good performance or sustained improvement from 2019 to 2023. 

Clinical pharmacology and therapeutics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and General Surgery at University College Hospital showed sustained improvement, as well as Anaesthetics at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. 

Audio vestibular medicine at the Royal National ENT Hospital and Infectious Diseases across UCLH were commended for consistent good performance.
