UCLH and UCL clinicians and academics including the UCLH Director of Research have been named in the internationally recognised annual Clarivate listings of the ‘world’s most influential researchers.’
The list features the world’s top 1% of researchers on the basis of exceptional research influence.
This influence is measured by the production of multiple highly-cited research papers that rank in the top 1% by citations in the Web of Science – a global database of citations which is independent of research publishers.
Among those recognised in the 2022 list are:
A total of 49 researchers in the list are affiliated with UCLH’s academic partner UCL. Many on the list are senior researchers within the UCLH BRC, whose expertise in science that can be translated into improvements in patient care has underpinned the success of the BRC.
Professor Williams said: “It is gratifying to be recognised in this way and to be included alongside so many colleagues at UCLH and UCL across a number of fields. The list highlights the extraordinary expertise we have at our hospital and university and is a reflection of our commitment to being a research hospital. The impact of our research is ultimately seen in the improvements in care we are able to deliver at UCLH and beyond.”
