Prime Minister Boris Johnson came to the UCLH vaccination centre based at The Francis Crick Institute to receive his second COVID-19 vaccination. Having two doses of the vaccine provides greatest protection against COVID-19 and everyone is encouraged to go along for their second jab.
The centre was set up in partnership with The Francis Crick Institute in a matter of weeks and is staffed by volunteers from The Crick and its partners as well as UCLH staff who manage the service. While he was at the centre, the Prime Minister met UCLH chair, Julia Neuberger and our acting deputy chief executive and chief nurse Flo Panel-Coates.
Baroness Julia Neuberger said: “We opened the vaccination centre at the end of January 2021 and we recently vaccinated our 50,000th patient at the Crick. It is fantastic to see everyone coming forward for their jab.
“We were very pleased to welcome the Prime Minister to our vaccination hub at the Crick and to give him his second jab."
Flo Panel-Coates said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all those involved in the vaccination programme across North Central London. A huge number of volunteers, NHS staff and others have all been involved to get our residents protected against COVID-19. I would like encourage everyone to come forward and have theirs.”
If you are eligible, you can book your vaccination on the NHS website
