Today is the 72 anniversary of the NHS – and it is dedicated to our amazing staff.
Employed by UCLH, Interserve or another one of our partners, volunteers or someone who has returned to help out during COVID-19: without our amazing staff, the NHS could not be the fantastic institution it is. We appreciate every single person for what they do.
You can read our latest edition of the UCLH Magazine which is dedicated to everyone’s hard work during COVID-19.
Julia Neuberger, chair of UCLH, also has a special message for staff.
She said: "The NHS is truly a remarkable institution and is quite rightly the envy of the world.
"It is you as staff that make it something special and you have really shown how wonderful you are during these trying times of COVID-19.
"I know many of you are tired and anxious about the current situation, but you should all be immensely proud of what you have done and how you have conducted yourselves.
"You have never failed to impress me with how you have coped with the challenges COVID-19 has thrown up.
“Congratulations on an incredible achievement and well done to every single one of you."
We also have two patients who want to show their appreciation for the care they have received. Ria Lakhani and Ertan Nazim both survived COVID-19 thanks to everyone at UCLH. You can read their stories here and here.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to our fantastic volunteers. You can read more about their fantastic work here.
Don’t forget to share your own photos and stories on social media and tag in @uclh so we can celebrate with you.
