UCLH will be part of a major UK research study looking at the long-term health impacts of COVID-19.

UCLH now has 24 active Covid-19 research studies – up from nine at the beginning of the month – with another 9 under consideration or being set up.

Nine Covid-19 research studies are already taking place at UCLH and the Trust is processing more than 30 study proposals as research efforts around the virus and pandemic are ramped up.

The designs of a new breathing aid developed by engineers at UCL and Formula One working with clinicians at UCLH have been made freely available to support the global response to Covid-19.

A breathing aid that can help keep Covid-19 patients out of intensive care, adapted by mechanical engineers at UCL and clinicians at UCLH working with Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (Mercedes-AMG HPP), has been approved for use in the NHS.
