In January 2020, I was admitted to University College Hospital with a life-threatening virus. The medical team saved my life. I am passionate about UCLH and I will be delighted if my experience as a businessman can help in any way.

Following 25 years managing major projects in the nuclear and rail industries, in 2002 I founded Howarth & Co, a niche project management business. Later, I founded the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering and in 2013 I was appointed Chair of the Strategic Network of 16 NSAs, which included Health and Social Care.

I work with strategic organisations, Government Ministers and senior civil servants. I have presented to UK parliamentary committees and have significant experience of working with financial, legal and regulatory teams. In 2006 I was awarded the Institution of Civil Engineers President’s Medal for my contribution to engineering over the previous thirty years.

I live in St John’s Wood, London with my wife, Valerie.
